What do you get out of it?

I'm sure we've all heard that staying fat has a payoff. I've been thinking about this over the last few weeks and trying to determine what my payoff is. I mean if it wasn't paying off in some way - then I wouldn't continue to gain weight that I had just lost. I would just be able to lose weight and keep it off? Sounds great, right? While I don't really know if it's the magic pill - if such a Unicorn even exists, I still think it could be very helpful to understand this.

I have a few thoughts, but I wanted to know what you think? If you are overweight, what payoff are you getting by not letting go?

I am not an overweight person in my opinion... anymore. But I think staying fat is a way of giving yourself permission to just keep eating "junk" type foods.

Ack.....Never really thought of it this way....But I think my payoff is comfort! I've noticed lately that I really miss my mom. Not the mom I have, but the mom I need. I needed a mom's comfort when I was young and I still need it now. When I'm in that frame of mind, I tend to lean toward comfort foods. You know the kind that make things all right (for that moment in time). I don't understand why I need a mom's comfort at my age, and I don't understand with all the other support I have why I need it. I just do.... I think maybe it's when she disappoints me that it flares up and she's really disappointing me lately.

Well thanks....I just unloaded on you! Geez I'm sorry..I guess I just realized this!

Keep focused my Friend!
