Meet Sam

2010-2012: After watching Julie & Julia in Dec 2009, I felt inspired. Since then I have blogged about the ups and downs of losing weight, gaining weight, learning to running, dealing with struggles of emotional eating, and infertility. I am 30 years old, my husband and I are doing what we can to love life, cherish our little Willow (or pug/border collie 2 year old puppy), and to make our lives better.

2012-2013: In 2012 our life changed forever when we found out we were pregnant! This was a huge surprise and shock, since we had been trying for 6 1/2 years. We had just decided that we were going to really dive into fertility testing and treatments. 2 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. Emma is the light of our lives, and we thank God for her every day! She is our little miracle! I am starting to blog again (after taking a break for a while) about our life now! Before I was pretty much focused on my weight and weight loss. Now... I have a feeling this blog will just be more about our life, family, ups and downs, and yes - of course still weight loss. Life sure can change so quickly!

2014: Our life this year is... just a bit crazy! Mike is currently working three jobs. He works three mornings a week coaching a Master's swim team over at West Jordan Rec Center. He works full time for Morgan Stanley as a Section Manger. And he is working part time at Scheel's in the bike section. We don't get to see him much, but cherish the time we do have. I stay home with Emma and am still working about 30 hours a week from home for IU (Online college). The reason Mike is working so much is that we are really trying to pay off all our debt this year. We've paid of the Camry and our two school loans so far. Now we are just working on the credit card. I'm so grateful for such an amazing man that would be willing to sacrifice so much of his time to help us get right side up. I only regret we didn't do it sooner, when I could have had a 2nd job too. Oh well. As they say, hind sight is 20/20.

Also this year we are re-focusing on our health and weight loss goals again. Unfortunately I have bounced back and forth in my efforts and have gained quite a bit of weight. I weighed in at WW for the first time last week and weighed in at 279.8lbs. Sigh. That's the largest I've ever been. But I'm feeling okay about things and ready to finish the race. Slow and steady. My hope is that this will be the last time I ever join WW again. Because this time I'm not quitting. This time I will see it through to the end.
