If ...It's a funny thing, dieting, isn't it? If I was told I could lose weight, but I couldn't eat bananas, what would I crave? Bananas. I guess I don't like being told what to do - lol. I am still watching my calories until I've lost weight, like you, but I have stopped reading all the diet books and I have put my scale away until December 31st.<br /><br />It's not like I need it to know if I am doing well or not. Let's face it. I know. The scale doesn't have to tell me. I'll just use my clothes as a guideline because I have let the scale DECIDE if I have a good day or not, am "good" or not ... way too much power to give an inanimate object - crazy, huh? I must unwind this craziness my mother started - lol. Besides, I think if you're going to weigh yourself, once a month is plenty (that's just me though. I feel like you and I have...Sam, I loved this post. I feel like you and I have a lot in common. I actually started a free online program called sparkpeople and so far I like it because I don't feel like it is a "diet". I too started to make new recipes that I once felt were "not on my diet" but realized that I can eat them just not binge eat them. I definitely think you are on the right track. You are brave to box up your scale, I think I would die without mine but that is another goal I'm working on too. Great job at everything you are doing.
